Passenger light-rail vehicle
Low-density regional lines are where driverless operation makes commercial sense first. No mixed traffic, moderate speeds, short route lengths. Autonomy keeps these lines open where the cost base of conventional operation cannot be justified.
Zwiehoff - Rosenheim, Germany
Autonomous shunting vehicles
Futurail's sensor kit retrofits onto Zwiehoff's ROTRAC road-rail shunters, adding obstacle detection and centimetre-level positioning in yards, workshops and industrial sites. Zwiehoff's operators gain eyes on the track exactly where staff work closest to moving vehicles, on the vehicles they already run.

Autonomous depot operations
Depots are enclosed, low speed and highly repetitive, which makes them the shortest regulatory path to automation. Automating stabling and preparation moves takes staff out of the track area and frees crews for revenue service.
